Review: Wildcard Volume 1 by Missy Johnson

~Synopsis~

246.

That's the number of women I've shagged in the last twelve months.

I'm Ryder Stevens.

Don't pretend you don't know me. I'm a god.

I'm hot, I'm British and I take what I want. I'm also the number one ranked tennis player in the world. But it's my off court antics that gain the most attention. I cruise through life, running from one scandal to the next. Hell I can't even take a piss without the world knowing about it.

Rules? Who gives a shit?

Rules are there to be broken and I'm the king of breaking them.

But even the king can be bought to his knees. I'm sidelined with an injury that changes everything.

Maybe my life isn't so perfect after all...

  ~Review by Vanessa~

I enjoyed reading this book. I didn’t know how short it was but I was highly upset that it ended the way it did. I need the next volume ASAP! In volume 1 we meet Ryder Stevens who is the bad boy of the pro tennis world. He loves alcohol, women and tennis and doesn’t care what the media says about him, that’s who he is and he’s proud of that bad boy title; Until he falls and breaks his tail bone right before he’s about to engage in an orgy.  Now the bad boy tennis player is out for months with nothing to do but sit on his arse all day and recover, which leads him to finding a fan letter from a little boy, named Jake who thinks he’s a butthead and doesn’t feel Ryder appreciates what he has. Leave it to a seven year old boy to make him realize that he’s not appreciating what he has. Ryder tries to get into contact with Jake only to get his mother Scarlett instead. Scarlett is one sassy momma trying to protect her son from the arrogant, immature, womanizer he is but instead her sassiness just attracts Ryder to want to know them more. Little by little he breaks down her walls and a friendship ensues. I really am not a fan about how fast the book moved however I did understand why she advanced things so fast with the story. That is all I’ll say about this book you’ll have to read to find out more but be warned you will need the next book after this one just like I did. I need to find out what happens!! Way to get a reader hooked Missy!
