Return of the Bad Girl by Codi Gary Review + Giveaway

~*SYNOPSIS*~
Bad girls don't forgive.
Bad girls don't forget.
Bad girls don't fall in love.

Caroline Willis may be known for causing trouble, but she is NOT about to become homeless. So when she learns that her perfect apartment has been double-booked—to a dangerously hot bad boy—Caroline's bad-girl reputation comes out in full force. He may be sexy as sin, but she's not afraid of him … or his panty-melting smile.

Rock Canyon's got room for only one bad attitude—and Gabe Moriarty was here first. Still, starting over means playing it smart, so while sharing his new apartment is less than ideal, it's worth getting his dream business off the ground. Not to mention that it means shacking up with a sexy wild child. Caroline may be giving him the cold shoulder, but Gabe always was good at starting fires …

Caroline vows to keep things professional with Gabe, but as close quarters begin to ignite the sizzling chemistry between them, she's left wondering: Bad boy plus bad girl equals nothing but trouble … right?

~*PLAYLIST*~
Music has always been a huge part of my writing process, and can inspire a scene or an action from one of my characters. For The Trouble with Sexy, Gloriana’s Kiss You Goodnight was a HUGE inspiration. Whitney Duncan was a serious factor in Things Good Girls Don’t Do and Lady Antebellum helped create the back story for Travis and Gemma of Good Girls Don’t Date Rock Stars. Jacob’s Ladder by Mark Wills was the centric theme for Bad Girls Don’t Marry Marines, so it was really no surprise that as I wrote Return of the Bad Girl, I was pulling songs from the radio to make up my playlist.
Take You Home by Thomas Rhett
Wake Up Lovin’ You by Craig Morgan
Everything Changes by Staind
People Know You by Your First Name by Dean Brody
When the Right One Comes Along from the Nashville Soundtrack
Sunshine and Whiskey by Frankie Ballard
Love by Jana Kramer
Speakers by Sam Hunt
Girl in a Country Song by Maddie and Tae
Break Up in a Small Town
Gonna Wanna Tonight by Chase Rice
Dirt by Florida Georgia Line
Show You Off by Dana and Shay
Something Bad by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood
Follow Your Arrow by Kacey Musgraves
Mean to Me by Brett Eldredge
Enough is Enough by Eli Young Band.

So, several of the songs on this playlist (I.E. 4 and 10) set up the back ground and gossip running rampant about Gabe and Caroline, in part thanks to Miss Know It All. Sometimes the attitudes and antics of the towns people surprise even me, but they are oh, so fun! Especially the dreaded Mrs. Andrews. (Shudder). Then there are the angsty ones like 2, 3, 5, and 17. These songs help me through Caroline and Gabe fighting their feelings and the inevitable screw up by both of them, because true love never did run smooth, right? The fun/funny songs like 6, 9, and 14, helped me during character development and those funny interactions between friends and the h/h that make me smile and sometimes even laugh out loud. (Caroline is the anti-girl in a country song and if you’ve never seen the video, you have to check it out!) Show You Off #13 inspired one of my favorite lines in the book, but I won’t give away what it was.
But my favorite song on this playlist is Jana Kramer’s Love (#7). Caroline is a cynic who has never been in love and Gabe believes he doesn’t deserve it. This song gave me the inspiration for their Happily Ever After (because they have to end up together right?)
I hope you enjoy my Return of the Bad Girl Spodify Playlist!

~*REVIEW BY ELYSSA*~
Fallers, I didn't really know what I was getting into when I started Return of the Bad Girl. I'd picked it randomly out of a list of books, and it's part of a longer series (the Rock Canyon series, for those who are interested). Luckily, this book is totally stand-alone (I honestly wouldn't have known it was part of a series if I hadn't looked it up), and it was completely awesome! I'm giving Return of the Bad Girl four and a half leaves!

Caroline and Gabe are basically a match made in heaven. She's the town's former bad-girl, eventually leaving home before graduating high school to strike out on her own. Gabe's recently out of a jail due to a horrible accident in his past.... and both are now stuck together in the same apartment. Necessity brings people together, and I could tell the minute they met that Caroline and Gabe were in for a bumpy (but incredibly fun and really hot) ride. One of the things that struck me about this book was the absolutely incredibly, admirable growth both characters went through. They've both had really rough pasts, but both are working incredibly hard to put it behind them, start fresh, and try to improve themselves.

And they do. You can see it in their actions, the way they interact with one another and with other people. They're not always successful, but they both realize when they make mistakes, and both do their best to remedy them. That's the focus of this book for me--two people who are trying to better themselves for themselves, and also realizing that just because they had a bad past doesn't mean they don't deserve each other--deserve love--in their future.

I loved Gabe and Caroline. Both were witty, smart, and completely devoted to one another. The ride was a little choppy, but definitely check this one out, Fallers!

From the time I could put a Disney Book cassette into my little stereo, and read along, books have held a fantastic distraction. When I was eleven, I decided I wanted to be one of those magical people that brought stories to life. Devouring a book a day sometimes, my first romance novel stuck with me. I've always been a sucker for a happy ending (and the great romantic gesture)and that's what I try to put into my stories. I am so honored to be a part of Avon, and am so excited to have my own dreams coming true.

Dash Vol 2 by Shantel Tessier Review + Giveaway

~*SYNOPSIS*~
I should have walked away that day at the race track. I should have turned my back on Dash and all the feelings I started to have for him. He lied to me. He was keeping secrets from not only my father but me as well. But I couldn’t. There were too many unanswered questions that I needed to know and he promised to tell me. But promises are made to be broken, right?

I lied. Not because I needed to but because I could. Tabatha was smart, though. She is gonna figure out sooner or later that who I am and who she thinks I am are two very different people. She deserves the truth. But how do I know what the truth is anymore?

~*EXCERPT*~
My heart pounds in my chest and my body trembles. I gasp, trying to catch my breath.
“You sure know how to stroke a man’s ego,” Dash’s voice whispers into my ear as his hand slides between our bodies and his fingers find my clit. I gasp as he starts to massage it. He chuckles as he buries his face deeper into my neck.
I arch my back, allowing him better access as I suck in another breath. “You’re the one doing all the work,” I pant as his body lies on top of mine.
I feel him smile against my neck. I let out a shriek as he rolls over and pulls me on top of him. He looks up to me with a smirk on his face. A few strands of dark hair stick to his slick forehead. “You can have all the control you want, darling.” I’m momentarily paralyzed as his light gray eyes stare up into mine. The morning light coming in through the window makes them sparkle. The smirk grows across his face as he places his hands behind his head. Arrogant bastard. He knows what he does to me when he looks at me like that. Like I’m the only woman in the world. Like neither one of us have a past. Like we’re not hiding from the present. I don’t know what our future holds, but at the moment, it goes on forever.
I run my hands up his smooth and hard chest, the sweat from our bodies making it slippery. I want to taste him in every way. To the point that it may make me sound somewhat insane. Leaning down, I place my lips on his chest and give him a soft kiss. I continue giving him soft kisses as I slide my body down his.
He lifts his hips and he lets out a deep growl as I wrap my fingers around the base of his dick. I wet my lips and lower my mouth over him as his hands find their way into my hair. So much for being in charge. I don’t mind it, though. He can have all the control over me that he wants.
He lets out a moan as I pull him to the back of my throat. I let out a noise of my own when I taste myself on him. As I go to pull up, his hands in my hair grip me tighter and he lifts his hips, pushing deeper into my mouth. I try to fight the urge to pull back, to fight his control. He’s not Rodger, I tell myself.
“Fuck…Oh…” I run my eyes up his body lying on the white sheets. His stomach muscles clench and his chest rises and falls quickly. His head is thrown back, his jaw tight, as he sucks in breaths through clenched teeth. It’s a sight to see—me allowing him to take pleasure from me the way that he wants. I relax, allowing him to have his way with my mouth as I just allowed him to have my body.
I take him as deep and as fast as he wants to go. And he wants it fast. He doesn’t let up. My jaw is sore and my cheeks hurt but it’s worth it. Anything is worth hearing that man come with my name on his lips.
Once he’s finished, he releases my hair and I pull away from him with a satisfied smile on my face. He grabs me by the shoulders and throws me down beside him. “You’re amazing,” he breathes as he pushes some hair off of my face.
I take in a deep breath. “Not so bad yourself,” I tease.
His smile widens. “So much for stroking my ego,” he mumbles.
I arch an eyebrow. “I think I’ve stroked enough,” I respond, making him fill his bedroom with laughter.
I open my eyes and look at myself in the mirror. I have streaks running down my face from the tears I’ve cried in the last hour. It’s crazy how that memory was from just this morning. We were lying in his bed laughing as we were getting ready for round two. Now I’m standing in the restroom at the hospital waiting to see if he’s gonna be okay.
Dash crashed! It happened so fast that it didn’t register at first. He was riding along on the track after our talk. I had almost left him. I was so pissed at the fact that he was keeping some serious secrets from me. Hell, I thought that Valerie was telling the truth and that she was indeed his girlfriend. My father even believed her. Acted like he knew her. But after talking to him, I believed him. Then he jumped back on his bike and went to finish his practice run.

Let me start of saying that my addiction to this series is worse than my addiction to shopping!! This is the second book in the Dash series and it takes us right back to the yearning lust-filled world of Dash and Tabatha. I am so involved with Dash and Tabatha that I am already aching for the next book!! I  In this book, you will see that someone is trying to harm Dash and destroy Tabatha. That there are people out there that do not want the two to be together and they will do whatever it takes to sabotage their relationship. There is fun, a little mystery, and hot sexy time between Tabitha and Dash. For me this book showed me more about all of the characters and still left me with so many questions! A few major questions that will leave you frustrated is, Dash and Tabatha going to make it? Will they put everything they have and make the relationship work, and have it go public? So many questions that I really can't wait to find out!! I am looking forward to the next book!!

A Necessary Sin (The Sin Trilogy #1) by Georgia Cates Review + Giveaway

~*SYNOPSIS*~

Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, an organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge’s son Sinclair—until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She’s always known this undertaking would place her life in danger—she never imagined her heart would be as well.

~*TEASER*~

~*EXCERPT*~
 Bleu MacAllister’s POV:
“Damn, you don’t give much away.”
He’s right. I have to make myself more vulnerable. “Most men don’t appreciate hearing the word no when it comes to sex, so I thought you were skipping out on me.” I shrug. “I must confess it was a huge letdown to not see you for two days. I wondered if my demands might have been too much for you to handle or maybe I was a turnoff.”
“It’s the opposite for me. I’ve never been more turned on.”
“I’m calling bullshit.” As much as I hate to admit it, that damn Geneen was stunning—until I broke her nose. “I’ve seen the women at the bar. Some are gorgeous and have bodies to die for. There’s no way I’m the biggest turn-on you’ve ever had.”
“Bleu. Those women are beautiful until you know them and understand their motives for being at Duncan’s. Every last one of them wants to be claimed, and they’re willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.”
Claimed. I remember reading about this in one of the files. The Fellowship has this bizarre practice of laying claim on women they aren’t married to. “I don’t understand what you mean by claimed.”
“You don’t understand because you aren’t like them. And I like that very much.”
“I want you to tell me what it means. Is it a Scottish thing?”
“Another time, Bonny Bleu.”

I rated A Necessary Sin by Georgia Cates FIVE LEAVES!!!!

This is the first book in the The Sin Trilogy. This is a romance, love, and suspense story with a touch of mystery. Georgia Cates has delivered an amazing book which is soon to become a series to keep you engrossed. I could not put it down! Not only does this book have a strong heroine but has a really sexy main guy!

Bleu MacAllister has been traumatized by an event that happened to her when she was a young girl.  Bleu has been plotting a revenge against the person that took her mother away since the event occurred.  Bleu has grown into a force to be reckoned with. She has been on a crusade of the vengeance for herself and her mother. Bleu has spent year training with her step-father and keeping track of Thane Breckenridge.

All the planing could not prepare her for meeting and falling in love with Thane Breckenridge's son, Sinclar. The book is based in Scotland with Sin's family being a brotherhood that is know as The Fellowship. The Fellowship are known as killers and thieves.  Bleu can not fight the attraction that she feels for Sin, despite believing that his father is the one who changed her life forever.  The story put me on emotional overload.  I really loved Sin! At first, I thought he was kind of a douchebag and then at one point I started to fall hard for him.  The book does not provide an closure for the reader but it really makes you think what is going to happen in the next book!!

Georgia Cates’s writing is unflawed and the story is told being unfolding before your eyes much like a movie. The author did a great job going back and forth from the main characters POV's timelessly.  Please note that the book ends in a major cliffhanger and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book!!

Sinful Rewards 6 by Cynthia Sax Review + Giveaway

Sinful Rewards # 6
A Billionaires & Bikers Novella # 6
By: Cynthia Sax
Releasing December 16th, 2014
Avon Red Impulse
~*SYNOPSIS*~

Bee Carter has spent a lifetime creating her good-girl persona. Three harsh words uttered in anger shred this carefully crafted façade, testing her relationships.

Nicolas, her handsome billionaire, is hiding a decades-old secret. Bee's scandal will draw unwanted attention to his dark past, placing the real estate empire he's built and the employees he manages in peril. Hawke, her tattooed bad-boy biker, protects the rich and famous. His high-profile clients won't want their bodyguard to be linked to Chicago's wild woman.

Both men desire her, craving her touch with a white-hot passion, but who will risk everything to stand by her side—her biker or her billionaire?

~*EXCERPT*~

The doorbell rings mere seconds later. “Aargh.” I stalk across the main room, unable to handle more deliveries. “Make it stop.” I swing the door open, aggravated.

“I’ll make it stop, sweetheart.” Hawke stands before me, clad in his ugly black T-shirt, his faded blue jeans, and big army boots, his tanned skin covered with a sheen of moisture as though he ran the entire way. He’s big and broad, a mountain of a man, and there’s no one I trust more with righting my world.

“Hawke.” I throw myself at him, my heart pounding.

He catches my smaller body, cups my ass, and lifts me upward, pressing me against his solid form, the barbed wire tattoo encircling his right bicep rippling.

“I’m here.” Hawke walks into the condo, carrying me easily, and I link my fingers behind his neck, never wanting to let him go. “Everything will be okay,” he assures me as he kicks the door shut behind him.

“I don’t know how anything will ever be okay again,” I mumble into his neck, inhaling his unique scent, a combination of engine grease, leather, and man. “I’ve put my best friend in danger.” I gaze up at his rugged countenance, the silver scar on his chin a reminder of his difficult life. “I—”

Hawke covers my lips with his, the force of his kiss driving my head back, evaporating my thoughts and tightening my nipples. I open to him, welcoming my badass biker into my mouth, our tongues dueling, dancing, drawing us together, meshing us into one being.

My fingers spread over his skull, his hair short and soft under my palms. Hawke’s chest flattens my breasts. His defined abs undulate against my fabric-covered pussy, the pressure exciting me. He strokes into me, the stubble on his chin blazing a trail across my skin, and I respond with no inhibitions, sucking on his tongue as I wish to suck on his cock, tasting him, savoring him.

There’s no fear of Hawke judging me, rejecting me. He embraces my wild nature, encourages my perversions. With him, I’m safe, accepted, worthy.

He falls backward, his ass smacks against the leather couch cushion, and I bounce on top of him, the contact driving my arousal upward. His massive hands slide up my back, the friction delightful. I arch, rubbing my taut nipples against him, frustrated by the layers of clothing between us.

He breaks our kiss and rests his forehead against mine, the tips of our noses touching, both of us breathing heavily. “Who are you thinking about, love?”

“What?” I blink at him, my brain fuzzy with passion.

Hawke smiles his lopsided smile, his white teeth flashing in his tanned face. “Exactly.” He nips my bottom lip. “When we kiss, you don’t think about anyone else.”

I rated Sinful Rewards 6 by Cynthia Sax FIVE LEAVES!!!

I don't know what I am going to do when this series ends!!  I am glad to know I have 5 more books in this series.  I feel like this book was so much more than Bee herself.  I felt her emotions and my heart ached for her.  The gossip is out about Bee, and people believe she is an escort.  Bee feels like her life is going to be changing and not the way she wants it to.  She believes that if she gives up Nicolas it will be what is best for him.  She does not want him to be caught up in her misery.  Even though she should be with Nicolas I think deep down she is in love with Hawke. I mean, that's who I am in love with in this series!! There is just something about Hawke that makes you feel safe.  I don't think this is a spoiler and this is my opinion since it is not known to us who 'Friendly' is, but without a doubt is Hawke!! I mean it is just obvious and it makes me love Hawke so much because he truly cares and loves Bee. I am very eager to see what happens in the next book, with Nicolas. I was surprised by the end of the book how he wants to help Bee and wants to make it right for her! Maybe, I am going to be Team Nicolas now!! The struggle is real, y'all how does she just pick one?

My name is Sophie Morley, and this is my story of loss.

I used to be mature, professional, and stable. I used to have friends and colleagues who respected me. I used to be someone I respected. I knew the life I wanted, and I lived within my forever plans. I was everything I thought I should be.
Then I met the man of my dreams, and everything changed in me. Everything I was and everything I was to become changed with his love. And I've never regretted one single moment of the life we shared.

My name is Sophie Morley,
and I am lost.

"I have to go. I'm sorry. I love you, Sophie," he said as he kissed my head and quickly walked away from me.
"What? Why?!" I croaked through the sudden tightness in my throat.
"The way I feel about you ties me in knots and makes me afraid of everything. I'm afraid you'll leave me, and I'm afraid you'll be taken away. I know you love me and I feel the same, but I have to go now. I know something bad is going to happen to you if you stay."
When he took his coat from the closet and walked to the front door, he paused for only a second. One second in which I had had the perfect words. And I had no words.

I rated Lost by Sarah Ann Walker FIVE LEAVES!!

This was my first book by Sarah Ann Walker. I can guarantee you I am now her biggest fan! Lost is one of the most intense and gut-wrenching stories I have ever read! Lost is extraordinary brilliant!! A captivating, mysterious, and intriguing love story with a twist.  This story was so additive, gripping, and incredibly well-written. I am going to try to keep this review very vague in an effort to keep the story exciting and mysterious for y'all.  It would be so easy for someone to ruin this story, but no one can put this story into words do it justice. There are hidden secrets that creep throughout this book, throughout Sophie's story and Peter's journey. This is a standalone read with a heart-warming ending with the way the story unfolds, you realize just how deep Sophie's love is (Disclaimer: have some tissues close by!!)

We meet Sophie. She is independent, smart, and beautiful. Growing up she was had goals and she knew that she was going to have her "forever" career and her "forever" love.  She had everything planned out for her just the way she wanted until Peter comes into her life. He will "forever" change her life.   Peter is the perfect man for Sophie and she knew from just a couple of times spending with him  he was going to be her "forever" love.  Peter made Sophie really love, live, and feel LOST. At first, I thought okay, Peter is just too good to be true. I kept bracing myself reading this book that I knew something would creep in about him that I wasn't going to like.  I felt like I was guarding my heart as was Sophie.  I cried so much in this book, I actually felt like I was Sophie. If you are lucky in life to experience full blown love, you will do anything and sacrifice to feel that kind of love. Love knows no boundaries, it makes you feel and hurts, do questionable things, love can be hard sometimes; but in the end those are the love stories that are most precious.  I felt every emotion Sophie was going through when she was with Peter and more.

Pick this book up and fall in love with characters.  I promise you won't regret this powerful story.
