Review: Reflect Me & Follow You Down by K.B. Webb

~Synopsis~
If you're looking for a story about a sweet, innocent virgin who rides off into the sunset with a reformed bad boy, then you're looking in the wrong place.

Some people don’t get a happily ever after. Molly Scott is one of those people, and she knows it. With the kind of past that she has, and the secrets that she holds, she knows that even if she found Prince Charming, he wouldn’t want her. She refuses to dwell on her less than ideal situation though. This is her life, no point in complaining.

Logan Wade had his life planned out, until all his dreams came crashing down around him. Now, he’s come back to the town he swore he would never see again to start fresh. He has no plans to ever settle down again, that’s how he ended up back here in the first place.

When Molly and Logan meet, they are forced to rethink the lives they thought they knew and the futures they were so sure they wanted. Suddenly, Molly wonders if there is a better life outside of the hell she has built for herself, and Logan begins to rethink his resistance towards settling down again.

They say love conquers all, but Molly and Logan are about to find out that sometimes love just isn’t enough.

Reflect Me is the story about a woman finding love and more importantly herself again. Molly is our main character and she is in a bad relationship with her boyfriend Brian. They have a little girl together named Lyric (which I thought was an awesome name) and from the beginning of the story you know Brian doesn’t want anything to do with Molly or Lyric. One night Brian informs Molly that an old friend is coming back into town and coming over to visit and insist Molly not do anything to embarrass him. Nice guy right? When Molly goes outside to greet Brian’s friend she gets butterflies in her stomach when she catches eyes with Logan Wade. Logan can’t believe that this beautiful girl is with his jerk of a friend and after meeting and seeing these two together he knows that there isn’t any love between the two. Molly, despite the instant attraction to Logan knows she can’t act on her actions because who would want her after Brian? Logan has a lot of walls to break down with Molly just to become her friend and after Molly finally has enough of Brian, Logan is right by her side to help her pick up the pieces; as friends of course. Everyone around them can see how much they are meant to be together but will Molly be able to see it in time or will it be too late?

~Synopsis~
*Follow You Down is the second book in the Reflect Me series, but can be read as a standalone.*

Dani Hartley is running from heartbreak and shame. She needs a new beginning, a fresh start with no commitments or attachments. What she definitely doesn't need is a gorgeous cocky sex god trying to fly in and play Superman.

Lucas Wade knows a thing or two about running. He has secrets in his past so dark they've turned part of his heart black. He only truly cares about two people in the world, his mother and little brother Logan. With the past that he has, the last thing he wants or needs is a mouthy red head busting into his life trying to get to know him and his secrets.

What started as one night of passion quickly turns into a mess of feelings and desires that neither Dani nor Lucas can deny. But, what happens when two lost souls try to save each other all while working to keep their own secrets hidden.

How far down would you follow someone to save them from them self? And how do you save them if they don't want to be rescued?

I really enjoyed the second story of this series. I like Lucas and Dani’s characters a little more I think than Molly and Logan. Lucas we learned about in the first book as Logan’s older brother and protector basically; he was Logan’s father figure since their father had run off. Lucas had some deep seated issues with commitment because of the way his father treated his mother growing up. Dani was a new bartender and the place Molly worked and just from reading things from Molly’s point of view you knew this girl has some issue; Dani had an affair with a married man, who happened to be in the spot light in her town so she had to relocate to be away from it all. Lucas and Dani start out as a just sex relationship and you know how those turn out; nothing good ever comes out of those. One person always ends up falling for the other and if you’re lucky,  they reciprocate and in this instance these two both can’t admit that they want something more even though they have clearly surpassed the just sex relationship. Lucas tries to convince himself that he doesn’t need Dani and does the unthinkable, which I won’t tell you, you’ll have to read to find out. Dani just gives up and lets him be until he comes crawling back to her and wants to try the relationship thing. Secrets start and just keep piling up until they all come into light killing anything these two thought they could have. Will Dani forgive Lucas for his past indiscretions or will more secrets of her own come into play that makes Dani be the one that needs forgiving?
