Strapped Review

Strapped
Author: Nine G. Jones
Genre: Erotica/Mystery

By all appearances, Shyla Ball has an enviable life: a loyal boyfriend, a great job, and family that loves her. She doesn't realize how deeply unsatisfied she is until she has an embarrassing encounter with a handsome stranger at a coffee shop. Taylor Holden, a successful businessman, takes a sudden special interest in her and offers her a job she cannot refuse. Soon after, she learns there is much more to this intensely private man than meets the eye. He is hiding many painful secrets, including why it is that he has seemingly plucked her out of obscurity for such a lucrative position. Her "perfect" world is turned upside down by her infatuation towards Taylor and in just a couple of months, her life looks nothing like it did before. While she is frightened by the changes she sees in herself, she cannot resist the lure of Taylor Holden. As Shyla slowly gains Taylor's trust, she learns of his complex history and how it has molded him into the person he has become. When elements of Taylor's secret past resurface and threaten to destroy them, Shyla finds out there may be more to Taylor's story than even he is aware of. Strapped is a story of passion, manipulation, obsession, and family secrets.

I rated Strapped FOUR & ONE HALF leaves!! I am utterly floored and pleased that this is a debut novel!! I very much loved the suspense the book held, and the plot was great. The book starts off with Shyla meeting Taylor at a coffee shop where she spills coffee over him.  There is an instant attraction between them.  They start to get to know each other and later on she becomes his assistant.  I fell in love with both Taylor and Shyla from the very beginning.  Taylor is your typical alpha male- troubled, confident, and sexy.  Taylor has a serious mystery about him. You could tell he was definitely hiding things from Shyla. That was something else I found intriguing. Shyla, however is your typical erotica heroine, who is wanting to pleasure her man. Shyla has been living with her boyfriend, Rick, for awhile but there is just something about Taylor she wants.  They finally gave into temptation with each other and when they do, their relationship takes off like lightening. Taylor has some problems and when he starts to open up to Shlya, his walls come down around him. This is when a crazy situation strikes in a big way.  There was some set up to the issues that were granted. I felt in the first half of book the relationship developed very slowly. I was totally confused by some of Taylor and Shyla's actions and reactions.  In the end, I am looking forward to the second book.  The book ended in a cliffhanger... ugh! If you are looking for a steamy read that has twists, turns and suspense then this is your read!
