This was my first book to read by Prescott Lane and without a doubt will not be my last book.  Prescott Lane gained a new reader!!  

Gage Montgomery and Layla Baxter meet one summer that will change their lives forever.  They shared many beautiful moments together and believed their love would last forever. However, an event happened that left the two from seeing each other for twelve years.  After twelve year gap, they share the same teenage love and so much more passion. Layla has had a really rough life and has had to make some very difficult decisions to help her along the way.  When Layla met Gage that summer she knew things would be finally looking better and she could finally have a new beginning.  Layla had to make a very a huge decision to leave in the middle of the night and not let Gage know where she went.  Since then Gage has always wanted to know what happened to his “Angel”. 

Gage and Layla burned up the pages together and their love story felt like it was truly meant to be.  I love them because through tough times they’re still standing tall together.  They lost each other before and they couldn’t imagine losing each other again; it would wreck the both of them.  No matter what gets thrown at them or what dark holes they happen to fall into, they know they’ll pull through. They now have each other to lean on and can help the other one through what is going on. 

Gage is the ultimate book boyfriend.  Every time he would speak I would just swoon over him.  Since he was not able to protect Layla from the difficult times in her life he wants to be her protector now and not let anything happen to her.  Gage is a knight in shining armor. To Gage, Layla is the sun and the moon. Gage is determined to never be part again.  The love he has for Layla just made my heart cry; I mean I fell hard for him from the first page!  

Prescott Lane’s writing style is simple and beautiful. She was able to create a perfect story that you can’t stop reading, with strong characters you can easily relate to.  You will go on a journey in this book from pain, love, forgiveness, heartbreak and then finding a happily ever after.  This book is how Gage and Layla overcome everything and learn to love despite the past and everything bad that has happened. 

~*ABOUT THE AUTHOR*~

Prescott Lane is the author of First Position and her new release, Perfectly Broken. She is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and graduated from Centenary College with a degree in sociology. She went on to receive her MSW from Tulane University, after which she worked with developmentally delayed and disabled children. She married her college sweetheart, and they currently live in New Orleans with their two children and two crazy dogs. Prescott started writing at the age of five, and sold her first story about a talking turtle to her father for a quarter. She later turned to writing romance novels because there aren't enough happily ever afters in real life.
