Oh, Fallers. What can I say? Can I say that this was the perfect ending to a story I ended up loving, despite my misgivings?
Yes. Yes I can say that, which is why I'm giving Penny Reid's Capture FIVE LEAVES.
Capture
is the third and final installment of Kaitlin Parker and Martin
Sandeke's whirlwind story. If you've read my past reviews, you know that
I had my own struggles with the story--it can be difficult to read a
story you connect personally with, especially when those connections
involve parts of yourself that you're not comfortable with. We started
Elements of Chemistry with a young woman experienced in avoidance and
hiding from her problems and shutting down her feelings and a young man
who was angry (and mostly just angry and other crabby feelings). We
start Capture with a young woman who has discovered her passion, has
tried her best to stop hiding in closets, and is finally starting to get
what she wants out of life and a young man who is calm, confident, and
decidedly less angry.
Capture, all in all, is a
story about two people who worked, and then didn't, but changed for the
better and might be able to make a really wonderful, well-rounded
couple. But first, as with any story, they have to actually get their
collective crap together. What ensues is one of the cutest stories I've
had the opportunity to read in my very short career as a blogger. Yes,
we have the opportunity to read Penny's trademarked raw honesty and
human interaction, fraught with difficult conversations and real
relationship stops and starts. But it's also damn cute. I won't give
away the end, but let me tell you--if you've been waiting to read this
series in its entirety like I have, the ending does not disappoint.

~*ABOUT THE AUTHOR*~
SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).
By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.
