~*SYNOPSIS*~

Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.

It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.

Clash (verb): to come together or collide.

I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.

Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.

Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.

He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.

Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.

~*REVIEW BY VANESSA*~

Oh my goodness I love me some Bennett books and when I found out that Macy and Cal were getting a story of their own I was so excited! I did not expect the secret turmoil Macy felt or the loneliness of Cal. In the beginning you can tell these two are crazy about each other and not in a good way since they can’t be in the same room together without tossing around insults. On Mac and Matt’s second son’s, Aaron, birthday these two finally have pushed each other too far and end up in the pantry, up against the wall showing each other how not frigid and needled dick they are. While Cal can’t believe how sexually compatible they are, Macy is just glad she had someone to use for a release she badly needed. The book is told from Cal’s point of view with little diary entries of Macy and it isn’t until you read them, that you actually get a glimpse of the deep sadness that is Macy. She has a ton of baggage and uses sex as an outlet, while she never does second timers with people; she won’t let Cal get away without knowing that she’s down for round two. Cal can’t believe that he had the most explosive sex with someone half the time he can’t stand. But something about Macy just keeps calling to him and while he knows she’s not the type to settle down he can’t stay away. Not wanting to admit the attraction neither of them go in for seconds, but when Macy needs legal help, Mac calls in a favor and ask Cal to take over her case not knowing that she just lit a match that neither Macy nor Cal can put out. I can’t wait to continue the story and learn more about what happens between these two!!!
