~*SYNOPSIS*~
Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn’t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isn’t so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.
As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people—like Alex, who’s been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the team’s effort to clean up his image. What she doesn’t expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isn’t one to cross professional boundaries—and besides, Alex doesn’t do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alex’s bad-boy façade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers.

 ~*REVIEW BY VANESSA*~
I love, love, love Sawyer Bennett and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book! Alex Crossman is one of the NHL’s best players but also biggest asshole on and off the rink. No one really talks to him or understands why he is how he is but the team and the fans deal with him because apart from being the team’s MVP (most eligible prick) he’s the best player they haveWhy enjoy the fans and all the trappings when he can’t stand what he does? Finally having enough of his attitude, his coach sends off the work with a local drug crisis center where he meets Sutton. Sutton hopes that as a drug counselor she can make a difference in at least one person’s life and with the help of the NHL’s player she’s hoping it will open all new opportunities for her kids that she helps. Having a past of her own Sutton knows what it’s like to be around drugs or people who use them and can’t wait to get started on this project. Not knowing a thing about hockey, she never once thought to look up the guy she’d be working with and after first seeing Alex Crossman, she knows she’s in trouble. From the first meeting sparks fly between these two, but Sutton knows he’s got things buried deep inside him that keep him from fully committing to anything or anyone excluding hockey. Alex knew from the moment he meet Sutton that he had to have her even if it was for one night. How can he do relationships when it was damn near beat into him that hockey was to be his life? Battling all these conflicted demons puts anything between the two almost impossible, but Alex starts to fall in love again with the game and he can’t help but notice it’s because of the beautiful red haired beauty. Alex is his own worst enemy and still dealing with demons he can’t lay to rest starts to take a toll on him and his new found love of the game. Will he be able to defeat himself and score the happily ever after?
