Adam James is a corn-fed, Nebraska raised, piece of man meat with a chiseled body and baby face. He is in desperate need of a paycheck and will do just about anything to get one, including stripping down to his skivvies and lathering up in baby oil. Solo Cohan is a quirky hipster with a strong work ethic, raised by two gay dads who are head over heels in love with Harrison Ford and Star Wars, hence the name, Solo. She works for Teeg Model Management, the same modeling agency that decides to book Adam as their next up and coming model. Sparks ignite between her and Adam the minute her baby oil soaked hand connects with his practically naked body. Even though Solo can't stop thinking about Adam during photo shoots, she quickly and awkwardly, shows Adam her distaste for male models and her inability to engage romantically with them. Adam is captivated by her nerdy talk and peculiar tendencies and sets out to make it his mission to turn the Star Wars loving hipster to the dark side, where mingling with models is widely arousing.
~*REVIEW BY JODIE RAE*~
The book had me hooked from the first page. It’s a little different than what I have been reading lately, which seems to be dark craziness. But this book is absolutely funny!! If you're after something light-hearted, a little drama, a book that will keep you smiling, then you need to check this FIVE LEAVES book out!!
This book is about a male model, Adam James who is from Nebraska and is now living in California. Adam never thought he would be stripping down to his briefs to have someone take pictures of him but he was in need of money fast. But he knows that he needed to do something quick and legal.
Adam knows he is good-looking and has a nice body, so being a model should be easy enough. He is such a boy-next-door charmer, but he is not your average model. He is sweet, kind, and a little geeky to make him the perfect book boyfriend. On his first day auditioning to be a model, he meets the nerdy Solo Cohen. Solo, yes that is her name and yes, she is named after Han Solo from Star Wars, works for the Teeg Models were Adam is working as a model. Solo is in charge of the models and keeps the guys up to date on their scheduling.
Adam and Solo have an insta-lust/attraction at first sight. It is crazy how much the two have and common and they know they can't stop drooling over each other. It would not be surprising considering that Adam is a good looking guy and that Solo is a fun and unique lady. Solo is not interested in having a relationship with a male model again because she was burned previously. There are a couple of problems and issues for this couple to overcome to find their happily ever after; with Adam worrying about his mother and Solo and her insecurities. The couple must go through some difficult obstacles to find each other in the end.
I adored Adam and Solo's relationship together, including his cute nickname of "Muffin" for her. I loved their playfulness and the silliness they had together. I love how this book is not all about the sex. I kind of went in with this book in mind that it would only be centered around sex, but it is not all about that. Adam and Solo's sex scenes were very tastefully done and hot! There were tons of laugh out loud moments between the two, and so many touching moments between Adam and Solo that made this book an enjoyment to read.
The secondary characters in this book, such as the other male models in this book and Solo's best friend Nolly were just as fascinating. I would love to see Nolly and Scout to have their book next!
I highly recommend this sexy book!! If you want something to make you laugh and smile, and make your heart warm and some geeky characters then this is your book!! I look forward to read more from Meghan Quinn, who is quickly becoming my go-to author for a great read!
~*ABOUT THE AUTHOR*~
Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped. Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
