Review + Giveaway: The Dare by Rachel Van Dyken

~*SYNOPSIS*~

From #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Rachel Van Dyken, comes the third and final book in the New York Time's Bestselling Bet Series...

Boring Beth Lynn has always lived up to her nickname... until she wakes up in a hotel bed next to a sexy as sin state senator she re-connected with at a wedding the previous night.

The biggest problem? She can't seem to remember anything about the night before except for crying into a box of cookies, and she's pretty sure Grandma Nadine slipped something in her drink. And what should have been a one night stand turns into a six day adventure when Grandma whisks them off to Hawaii to save them from the ensuing media firestorm.

Jace isn't looking for commitment -- he believes he made that clear when he left the wedding with Beth. Then again, he can't remember much of anything other than the way her skin felt beneath his hands. Now he's stuck with her at some lame couple's retreat and trying his hardest to fight the attraction only a woman like Beth could invoke.

He doesn't think it can get any worse.

But one spider attack... A donkey ride from hell... And an unfortunate episode with Viagra tea -- and there's one thing Jace knows for sure: He should never have agreed to Grandma Nadine's suggestion in the first place.

Because if this isn't paradise, and it isn't a vacation -- that only leaves one option.

Survival.

But to make it through alive... they might lose their hearts in the process.

“Guilty?” The FBI agent sighed heavily and reached for his coffee. “You do realize you’ll be going to prison.”
Grandma shrugged. “Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve gone to the slammer for the greater good.”
“The greater good?” the man asked, his eyes narrowing.
“Why, yes. I served a few months in a Russian prison after The Cold War. I was a spy and guilty of poisoning a government official. Then again, they could never prove it. I’d slipped something into his mouth during a heated kiss.” She reached into her leopard purse. “Breath mint?”

I rated The Dare by Rachel Van Dyken FOUR LEAVES!!

Let me just say that I love the Bet series! I am a fan of this author so I was super excited when we got this book. The Dare is the third book in the Bet series and is about Beth and Jace who we met in the Wager. Grandma Nadine is up to no good again and this one is the one she decides pull all the stops. Not only do you have the FBI involved, it also includes a couples retreat and a blast from the past. Beth is a brainy, smart, not very fun girl who has lived her life in a lab. Jace is the Senator who has jaded heart and doesn’t believe in any fairy tale. They both know the ways of Grandma Nadine and all the things she will do to get her couple together and they can’t help but be a little worried about what will happen if they don’t follow through. With Jace’s past of being caught supposedly with a prostitute it is the only thing he can do to save his career and Beth wants her fairytale even if it’s only for a few days. With no other choice but to follow the rules they embark on a journey that neither one of them were prepared for. Unbeknownst to them, they share a similar past that neither of them have ever let go; with Grandma Nadine’s help will these two be able to have their second chance at love? Or will they only have themselves to blame when it falls downhill? We get to see our favorite couples as well in this one only this time they get to enjoy the fun.
