Love smolders and the sex is red hot when Cassianna Baxter leaves behind a glamorous teaching career in Italy to return to her old Alma Mater, Lewiston Academy for Girls as the Deputy Head Mistress. No sooner does she arrive at the Academy than she walks smack into sexy Lawrence Taylor, her first love and ex-lover. He’s been looking for her ever since he was forced to leave her and now that she is back at the Academy he knows he has to win her back. And not just in his bed.

This was a great short story to read for the rainy weekend. It’s a story of second chances at love and how some misunderstandings can lead to heartbreak, but will love conquer all? Our heroine Cassianna has come back to her alma mater to be the new deputy head at Lewiston Academy. She had her doubts to come back due to her heart be broken when she was younger but because she loved being at the academy and couldn’t stay away. When she arrives at the school, she sees a man that resembles her lost love but quickly debunks that vision as an illusion her mind is playing on her. It isn’t until she is giving a tour of the school that she comes face to face with Lawrence: her reason for her broken heart. Flash back some years earlier where we get our background information; Lawrence worked and tended to the horses at the academy the same time that Cassianna was enrolled and slowly they fell in love. Due to a family accident Lawrence had to leave the school immediately, leaving Cassianna behind with no reason as to why he left; input the misunderstanding here. Yup it is what you’re thinking, Cassianna calls the number that was left to find him and gets the ex girlfriend who says that he left Cassie and they are getting married. This then leads Cassie to run away from the school and never contact him again. Flash forward years later and they meet again in a surprise school tour and have a mini make out session in Cassie’s office and this mini make out session opens up old wounds into both of them. Cassie doesn’t know that Lawrence tried to write her and find her after he came back and was just as angry at her for leaving him. Like I said HUGE misunderstanding plus some secondary characters that come into play make these two lovers second guess their second chance at love. Will Cassianna and Lawrence finally get their HEA or will their past come back and stop them? You’ll have to read the book to find out but I do recommend it!
