I rated Be My Downfall with FOUR AND ONE HALF LEAVES! Guys!! This is a must read! I was intrigued by this book from the very start. I hadn't read any of the other books in the series so it took me a bit to learn the characters, but when I did, I fell in love. The story is about Toby, who is on Spring Break with his friends. The story is also about Kennedy, who is the school party girl. She drinks ALL the time and is constantly high. This story is all about the natural way we want to help people in our lives, but sometimes they don't want or need to be helped.
Toby has been through a lot in his life, even though on the outside it doesn't look like it. He tries his very best to stay away from Kennedy, because the last thing he needs is to try and save someone who doesn't want to be saved. Toby and Kennedy spend one evening together and Toby realizes that he is already in too deep.
This is such a wonderful book because the characters are both SO wrapped up in each other. I love them both. Read Be My Downfall and find out how Toby and Kennedy end up. It might just surprise you how much they save each other!
I’ve long had a love of stories. A few years ago decided to
put them down on the page, and even though I have a degree in film and
television, novels were the creative outlet where I found a home. I’ve published
Young Adult under a different name, but when I got the idea for Broken at Love
(my first New Adult title), I couldn’t wait to try something new – and I’m
hooked. In my spare time I watch a ton of tennis (no surprise,
there), play a ton of tennis, and dedicate a good portion of brain power to
dreaming up the next fictitious bad boy we’d all love to meet in real life.
