We are finally at the end of our time with Mac and Matt! I am not sure whether to be happy or not because I will miss these two! I was anxious, however, to find out how it ends so I think I can be happy with that. In this book we have Mac and Matt trying to have a relationship, trying being the key word because as you read in the last book, Reparation, Matt’s ex-wife is causing some problems with Matt and his son. After the last sex scene, you knew something was wrong because Matt didn’t say Mac’s name like he normally did and this was a huge warning sign for Mac. In Affirmation, Matt is pulling away from Mac and she doesn’t understand why. A new woman in the office is trying for Matt and since no one knows about them, Matt isn’t fighting off the attention, not to mention the nights he isn’t spending with Mac or really trying to be there for her. One night, Matt tells Mac that he is going out with the boys from the firm and that it will just be a guy’s night out, as it turns out the next morning, it wasn’t just a guy’s night out but a night out with the woman who wants her man. Mac finally gets tired of it and confronts him and not to her surprise they end up parting ways but for good this time. She finally understands that she can no longer try for Matt if he isn’t willing to open his heart for her; he has too much hate in it for Cal and his ex-wife to let Mac in. After a week of not talking Matt finally transfers Mac to a different department that way she is no longer around him and this was the final straw. Mac emails a letter of resignation to Matt and he relents but accepts it with a heavy heart that in two weeks’ time she will be gone. Mac has a plan now that she is about to be unemployed and she calls up Cal for lunch to help. Not only is she asking Cal with help on her Jackson case, she is offering him a way to do what he loves: open a law firm together. At first Cal isn’t sure this is a real deal but when Mac produces the business proposal she has, Cal agrees. When Matt sees them together and sees the job plans they have he reaches his breaking point and knows that there is no going back with Mac. With only two weeks left working at the firm what will happen with these two?  Will they finally get a happily ever after or will Matt’s past emotions make him lose the love of his life? I rated Patience FIVE LEAVES.  Patience... this is one quality I lack.  I lack mostly when it comes to having books coming out! I've been waiting for another book by Sydney Lane to come out... now when is the next book coming out? ;) Patience is a branch off of the Choices story.  Declan, Quincy, Brody are very much in this story and you get to be a third person that is looking in on the love triangle that is taking place.  But what this book is really about is Eric and Jenna.  You have to build on trust and you have to have Patience and understand to the appreciation of that of in a relationship.  The book does a great job gearing us up for the next book in the Choices series... I can't wait!! Can it come out like, tomorrow?

One more book and we get our conclusion and I am not ready to let go yet! I wait every two weeks for these two and I am not sure what I will do once their story is done. Alright rant over now let’s get into this week’s book. A short recap of last book we know that Matt finally has agreed to try with Mac and she is just ecstatic. As you know, if you’ve followed these two, it is a huge deal that Matt is willing to try a relationship with Mac. He was betrayed by his best friend Cal and his ex-wife, so his trust is minimal at best and his emotions are locked up tight. In Reparation, you see a different side to Matt, one I don’t think anyone expected he had. Late night dinners and dates with Mac are just some of the sweet things he does for her. Yes, there is still a ton of hot sex between these two but it is a little more special because it has more meaning. One night when Mac gets drunk she utters those three words that she’s kept in for so long: I love you. To Mac’s surprise, Matt says nothing and acts as if it wasn’t said the next day. However, Matt takes a huge step in the right direction when he decides it’s time for Mac to meet Gabe. One weekend Matt’s ex asks him to watch Gabe and makes a plan to take him to Coney Island, but after he gets Gabe, she cancels her plans and wants him back. She ends up meeting Mac and all hell breaks loose between Matt and his ex and she leaves him pissed and heartbroken by taking Gabe. They end up making plans to take him to Coney Island on Matt’s week but the damage is done and Matt is back to how he was before: cold and heartless. When he and Mac have sex in the last scene, Matt doesn’t chant her name like he used to, he says nothing and Mac knows that everything has taken a turn for the worst. And that is the last part of the book for another two weeks! I know it always ends with a bang and leaves you wishing for a time machine to travel two weeks into the future but we have to be patient.. yup being patient is not my strong suit and we will have to wait to get the final instalment of this miniseries. Will they get their HEA or will Matt never let anyone in again?
