All The Pretty Poses Cover Reveal

All The Pretty Poses
Author: M. Leighton

He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.

Strength…
It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it.  But she did.  Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater.  Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse.  In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe.  All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese.  That sounds easy enough, right?

Weakness…
Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy.  Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one.  It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan.  It’s simple:  Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life.  That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her.  To save her.  Even if he has to save her from himself.

Blitzing Emily Review + Giveaway

All is fair in Love and Football...

Emily Hamilton doesn't trust men. She's much more comfortable playing the romantic lead on stage in front of a packed house than in her own life. So, when NFL star and irresistible ladies' man Brandon McKenna acts as her personal white knight, she has no illusions he'll stick around. However, a misunderstanding with the press throws them together in a fake engagement that yields unexpected (and breathtaking) benefits.

Every time Brandon calls her "Sugar," Emily almost believes Brandon's playing for keeps, not just to score. Can she let down her defenses and get her own Happily Ever After?

Blitzing Emily was a great start to author Julie Brannagh’s Love and Football series. I really enjoyed reading about Emily and Brandon. I loved the fact that Brandon wasn’t that into her at first. Let me explain why I say this before you start thinking I’m nuts. So we meet Emily, the opera singer, as she is on her way making a delivery for her sister, who is a florist, on Valentines Day.  While walking to the football stadium Emily trips and falls hitting her head hard and that’s when we meet Brandon. Mr. sexy, country accent, football player (yes all those names are needed) isn’t blown away by her beauty at first and there’s no initial buzz that goes through him when he helps her to the hospital. Brandon was trying to leave Emily to get to his date; see no initial attraction. Not to say there wasn’t any because obviously the story is called Blitzing Emily for a reason. Being a football star however has its down side, that being that once a joke about Emily being Brandon’s fiancĂ© came out, it spread like wild fire and not as a joke. Needless to say they have appearances to keep up, so they take on the fake engagement. The engagement seems to help out both their careers, but there are many conflicts that arise. You’ll have to read the rest of the book to find out what happens, but I do recommend this story. There is a second book called Rushing Amy which is about Emily’s sister Amy who you’ll meet when you read the book. That book is scheduled to come out February 11th of this year.

~REVIEW BY VANESSA~
Julie Brannagh has been writing since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She lives in a small town near Seattle, where she once served as a city council member and owned a yarn shop. She shares her home with a wonderful husband, two uncivilized Maine Coons and a rambunctious chocolate Lab.

Julie hasn't quite achieved the goal of owning a pro football team, so she created a fictional one: The Seattle Sharks. When she's not writing, she's reading, or armchair-quarterbacking her favorite NFL team from the comfort of the family room couch. Julie is a Golden Heart finalist and the author of four contemporary sports romances.

I know what you're thinking. “You were such a jerk, Nick!” Believe me, I know I screwed up the best thing I had going in my life, but that was kind of my thing. I’d learned how to run cons before I could even form complete sentences, and I'd always been selfish. But I changed. Lila forgave me, my brother and I were getting along, and I was trying to make a name for myself in the music world.   At least that was what I was trying to do when I negotiated my way into the recording studio with pop superstar Sadie Sinclair. I thought it would be a piece of cake—charm my way into her heart and into her record label's good graces.   Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I got mixed up in a web of lies, manipulation, and deception. A web that had me questioning my motives and desires altogether.   Was the fame and fortune really worth the price?

“Tell me again how you plan on pulling this off?” Lila asked as she sat down on the edge of my bed. I had called her first thing that morning to tell her that I was heading to Los Angeles to produce Sadie's album, and within the hour she was knocking on my front door to offer her insight and suggest what was and wasn't acceptable Hollywood attire. “Same way I pull everything off,” I answered quickly. “I don't think making her fall in love with you is going to work this time, Nick.” “Seriously?” I smirked. “Now you're doubting my abilities with women?” “Not women in general. Just this one.” “She's no different than the rest, Rae.” “Yes she is,” she disagreed. “How?” “Well, for starters, she's like the most famous person on the planet. You're not going to be able to make her fall for your charms, record the songs you want her to, and then just bolt when it's over. She'll run your name through the mud and people will listen. So it will have all been for nothing if you can never get another job.” “What makes you think I'm going to bolt? We might actually fall in love.” “Are you capable of that?” Ouch. That hurt. “I'm just saying that you might want to consider convincing her in a way that makes her not think she has a future with you. Nothing is worse than a scorned woman, Nick. Look at how Brynn took it. She told everyone that would listen how big of an asshole you were. It's a wonder you made it through graduation without being murdered.” Brynn was a mistake. She had run a couple cons with me a few years ago when Lila went and fell in love with my brother. I should have known better than to sleep with her, but dammit she was good looking. Not to mention a hellcat in the sack. I had needs. Sue me. It wasn't my fault that she hadn’t understood our arrangement. Run cons and have sex. I never said anything about a relationship. “I have other ways of making women bend to my will,” I said, trying to convince Lila. “Do you?” She laughed, obviously not buying it. “Don't get me wrong, Nick. You’re a good guy, deep down, but you know as well as I do that every single scam we ever ran was based on one thing. She's gotta be different if you want to turn this chance into a career. You break her heart and you're as good as done in that world.” “Celebrities date and break up all the time.” “You're not a celebrity.” She shook her head. “I mean, you're kind of known, but...” “Are you here to give me a pep talk or completely kick me in the nuts? Jesus,” I sighed. “You know what I mean,” she smiled. “She's more well known. People will take her side. Believe me. I've read enough gossip magazines to know what happens to the guy who dumps America's Sweetheart. Have you seen Kevin Federline lately?” “I don't even know who that is, Rae.” Her eyes went wide and hands went up as if she'd proven her point. “Exactly.”

A Blue Tale Review + Giveaway

The rock legend’s daughter…
Eli Blue Savage doesn’t trust musicians, especially those that idolize her dad.  Her heart’s been
broken by everyone she’s ever loved. Fairytale dreams and the music she locks inside her heart are all that keep her alive.

The musician with a dark past…
Deacon Chastain plays a blue guitar to match his rock idol, the man that saved him from a path of destruction.  His life revolves around music; it’s the only thing that saves him from the darkness.

Hearts beat to the same rhythm…
Broken and scarred by their pasts, can they find a way to heal and move forward?  No matter the adversity, even the hardest of hearts can be softened by love – music is easy; life is hard.

I rated A Blue Tale FIVE LEAVES!! What an emotional roller coaster ride. This book took me through so many emotions, and I found myself feeling: annoyed, giddy, sad and angry. First the story was great, but the character's were real.  Now a days so many books are filled with cardboard characters.  This book... no way! The characters are hot, damaged, makes mistakes, and are real to life.

The story is about Eli who is the daughter a famous guitarist, Kirk Savage.  Eli adored her father and he adored her.  They were each others happily ever after... until he passed away.  Eli is now in running her father's company and living her own life. She dumped her ex-boyfriend, Shaw and now pleasing herself.  She has horrible relationship with her mother but has a best friend that is always there for her.  She meets a new band and the lead guitarist, Deacon.  The story of how Deacon and Eli  first meet really tugged at my heart.  It just goes to show... everything really happens for a reason.

Even though this book did not really have a pronounce love triangle story line about it was still kind of there. (FYI: no cheating in this book)  My heart was torn into because I couldn't take the pain both Deacon and Shaw had gone through just to be with her. Shaw has been in her from the beginning and even though he was a douche bag he still cared for Eli with all his heart.  I actually really liked Shaw, well I loved Deacon too! Speaking of Deacon, he is sexy, alluring and obviously madly in love with her. Music and Eli are what changed his life around for him. All he wants to do now is love Eli with all his love and being.

I really enjoyed this book in the end. There is not a cliffhanger and no drama that makes me want to shot my face off. You as a reader will LOVE this book.  It was well written and took me on a ride. While reading this book I not only fell in love with Deacon, but I am looking forward to picking up future reads by Sarah Dosher!! Okie girl in the house! ;)

Sarah Dosher was born and raised in rural Oklahoma where she currently resides with her cowboy husband and twins (one cowboy and one cowgirl). She spends her day slaving away in healthcare and her nights pouring her heart out to her keyboard. She is addicted to books and The Golden Girls. Her love for reading inspired her to start her writing journey.

Rome Review + Giveaway

Title: Rome (Marked Men #3)
Author: Jay Crownover
Genre: New Adult
Publication Date: January 7, 2014
Publisher: William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing
Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

I rated Rome with FIVE LEAVES! Jay Crownover did it again. I've had the pleasure of reading the other two Marked Men series books, Rule and Jet, and I loved them. Rome's story was just as great. First off, Rome is HOT. Have you seen the cover? Wow! When we met him in the first book, we found out that Rome is in the military. I don't know about you but I have a soft spot for military men. Rome has always been the protector in his family. He is also the middle man. He wants everyone to be happy and feels like this is his job. He also protected all his men overseas. Now that he is home from the military, he is having a hard time trying to find his place in life.
Cora is a spunky girl who works with Rule and a bunch of the guys at the tattoo parlor. She is a fun girl who knows what she wants and that is Mr. Perfect. She has decided she isn't wasting her time with anyone who isn't Mr. Perfect. That is until Rome comes along and turns her world upside down, meanwhile, she helps him find his place.
I absolutely love reading Jay Crownover's books because they are ones that I can't ever put down. I enjoyed Rome just as much as I did Rule and Jet and I absolutely can't wait to read Nash's story next.

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
