Are you feeling warm yet?”

I watch his lips as he speaks the words, husky and low.   His lips are full, yet manly and suddenly I ache to lean over and press mine to his, to touch them in any way that I can. 

But I don’t. 

Because I’m not a girl who gets used.  Not anymore. 

 “No, not at all.”

But Dominic takes that as a challenge.  He’s not used to hearing the word no and he’s not about to start now.  I see that in his dark eyes a scant moment before he dips his head and consumes my mouth.

I say consume, instead of kiss, because that’s what he does.

“Oh, I’m sure of that.”

And just like that, I’m drawn back in… in toward his sexy smile, his arrogant gaze and his knowing smirk.  He’s bad for me.  Very bad for me.   I’ve got to remember that.

But my problem is, every time I look into his dark eyes and see the mysterious things that lurk there, I forget that.   I forget everything that is supposed to matter.

New Adult/Adult Contemporary Romance - recommended for ages 18 and up.  

 I gave Beautiful Broken Mess 4.5 stars. This was a nice follow up to one of my ultimate favorites, Beautiful Broken Rules. I was really happy to see Jace get his happily ever after. I went back and reread all the Audrey parts from book one to prepare myself for book two, and I was not too excited to read it. However, once I started the book, I couldn’t escape anymore. I started around one in the morning and then finished it around four in the morning. There was just so much angst and miscommunication, that I kept turning the page only to see them solve problems and then immediately create new ones. It was beyond infuriating, but we all know I really do love the angst.

I love, love, love Jace. He’s the more quiet one out of the trio of hot boys. He seems to be the most level-headed and responsible. He really is, except when it comes to Audrey. When they first meet at the beginning of the book, Jace already had me swooning, then all of a sudden I wanted to drop-kick him for being such an idiotic guy. But, I mean he was young… And he’s a guy… Seriously though, I could only give him so many free passes for being an idiot. Well, fine I gave him a couple extra because he’s a hot idiot. Audrey, his counterpart, needs to be wrapped up in a Jace blanket and hidden from the world. How can someone go through so much and still be able to love like she does? It’s amazing. Her strength is unreal. I admired her and shocked myself by falling in love with her. She went for what she wanted, and behaved like a normal girl in her shoes would. Their relationship was ridiculously confusing, but at the same time I found it strangely normal for their age. It was like one step forward, ten steps back. Talk about facepalm…

I was sooooo happy that we got to see Jax and Emerson as much as we did in this book. I wasn’t expecting it, but we basically got to see the continuation of their story here in Beautiful Broken Mess. Of course, we also get to see more Cole and Quinn cuteness. I was satisfied with the way both relationships progressed. And we get to meet Lane *swoon*. He is the second best thing that happens to Audrey (the first being Jace of course). Kimberly Lauren needs to stop hogging all the sexy guys in her books. Seriously. I can’t wait for his story.

 I'm a wanderer, an adventurer, a traveler. I want to see it all. I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list. "She travels the world & home is always in her heart." Lately if I'm not traveling or chasing a toddler, I'm writing. Which is weird because I hated writing in college. Oh wait, that's because that was boring. Who really wants to sit there and cite all your sources into APA format? Not this girl. Writing for yourself is enjoyable and cathartic. Please try it. Then tell me about because I love indie authors. When I was 19, I packed up and followed my high school sweetheart from Texas to California. We had a blast living it up in San Diego. Four years later we made a crazy decision and packed up again and moved to Germany. What? Yep, you read that right. Guess what? Best decision ever! We OWNED Europe. For three years we saw as much as we possibly could. We lived an hour outside of France, a couple from Switzerland and Italy. Most amazing time of my life. Please go out there and see the world, you won't regret it. After Europe we moved back to California, and for now we're just debating our next adventure. I earned a degree in Child Development. And now I write novels. Makes perfect sense! I write because I walk around all day with these stories in my head. It's nice to be able to get them out of my head in an organized fashion. I hope that someone out there enjoys them, because I have enjoyed so many others'.

  I rated Yearning Absolution FIVE LEAVES!! First let me start with the first book, Yearning Devotion, that book left me wanting more of Gwen, Cole, and McKayla. I have been dying to see what would happen next with the three.Yearning Absolution did not disappoint. It is such a beautiful story of love,forgiveness, redemption, and family. Gwen, Cole, and McKayla have a of obstacles to overcome if they truly want the happiness they are all meant to have.  As I am writing this review I am actually struggling to write this review because I do not want to spoil anything for anyone.  You just need to experince this story first hand so you know who wonderful it it. The author knows how to write novels that capture your heart and soul.  Five leaves just do not seem to be enough.  I was on a roller coaster from start to finish and I never wanted to get off.  It was intense and I loved every page and every second of Gwen, Cole, and McKayla.  (Especially Cole, gosh, I love Cole, so sexy!!)

Rachael is a stay at home mom with 2 young daughters and a husband that keep her constantly on her toes. She lives in the extremely hot state of Arizona, where she reads and writes away the blistering heat outside. She is a cancer survivor with a quirky personality. She’s been an avid reader for as long as she can remember and been writing since she was in high school. He scoops me up, bridal style. "Jeremy, what are you doing?" I yelp in surprise.
"You don't want to talk. Fine! But I will at least make this more comfortable for both of us." He beelines for my bedroom.
"I am no good at talking," I blurt out.
He raises an eyebrow at me, starting up the steps. "Oh really? I think you are good at it when you are scolding me."
Before I can respond with something sarcastic, he throws me onto the bed. "Jeremy!"
"Oh, are you angry at me now?"
His grin is infectious as I watch his Viking form, in only his boxer briefs, crawl over the bed toward me. My previous anger vanishes, and I smile. How does he do that?
Before I can finish my thought, his lips come down on mine hard, he presses his hips into me, and he grabs my hands, pinning them above my head. His tongue dips into my mouth for a brief moment, teasing me, eliciting an involuntary moan to slip from my lips.
He pulls away looking triumphant. "Now that I've got you calmed down, and right where I want you"—his eyes glitter mischievously—"you need to know that I am glad I am everything to you."
My eyes widen, and the previous panic seeps back into my core. My arms jolt, trying to get free of his grasp, but his grip is firm. I try to speak, but he cuts me off with an authoritative voice. "I am not finished yet." He places a chaste kiss on my lips to soften the conversation. "We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, and I have to admit that would frustrate the hell out of me, but for now I will let it go. I just want to say a few things. Maybe we don't know what everything means to us, but those feelings are mutual. You don't need to be scared, or embarrassed by your emotions. I can tell this is something you don't know how to handle, and in a way, it's kind of"—he tilts his head to the side as if pondering it for a moment—"cute."
I furrow my eyebrows at the word cute. Teddy bears are cute, not trained federal agents.
He laughs at my look and kisses the soft skin between my wrinkled brows. "You are so much cuter than you let on, but that is beside the point. You are a lot to handle, you know that?"
My lips twitch playfully, hiding my own secrets.. "Oh, you have no idea."
We both let out a belt of laughter, and things feel back to normal. Whatever normal means to us.

Emotionally Compromised by A. Rose was a great read. We start the book off by meeting Agent Alex Turner. I really like this heroine; she was feisty, sassy and down right bad ass! Next we have our CEO playboy love interest Jeremy Hunt. Cue in the job/problem: Marcus Gibbs. Marcus is the best friend to Jeremy and is used to being second to Jeremy in all things. Alex works as a waitress to try to catch the eye of Marcus but when Jeremy and Alex meet she knows she in for some problems. The emotionally void Alex can’t understand the attraction she has for Jeremy but she knows she needs to stay as far away from him as she can if she wants to complete the job. Jeremy has other ideas and pursues Alex to no end until she finally agrees and sparks fly with these two. Marcus catches the two and plans must change for Alex to complete her mission. There are tons of twist and turns in this story and I don’t want to give too much away so I will stop there but this was great read I recommend to anyone who likes a secret agent heroine, suspense and love.

I rate both Deadly Captive and Collateral Damage FOUR LEAVES.  With each of these books, I was trapped in the story.  I felt like I were one of the characters trying to surviving. Dark Erotica is one of my favorite genres to read about.  These two books have to be the darkest erotica I have read so far... and I love it! I enjoyed that the books had paranormal in it too. Bianca Sommerland manipulates her words creating pain, fear, and stress for the characters. On one hand, the books made me cringe and on the other hand they made me need to take a cold shower. Disclaimer: I believe these books are not for the faint of heart and not your every day romance read. I've had Deadly Captive sitting on my TBR for a while and I was so excited I got to review it!  Deadly Captive starts out with Lydia coming to the existence of apprehension that she is held against her will and trying to survive with her roommate, Joe. The plot of the story is that Joe and Lydia are being held captive by ruthless vampires who used them for their entertainment desire for their friends. I knew from the beginning there were something about Joe, that I was missing.  When you find out what it is, you will be startled. Collateral Damage is not as twisted as Deadly Captive but in its own way it is just as alarming when a little boy is thrown in the plot.  Nicole who is a daycare provider has been abducted, tortured, and raped .  She wants to give up and just die.  But she can't because the reason she is was kidnapped was to to teach a little boy.  Nicole will do anything to keep this little boy alive. Just like in the first book, Nicole has to be put on display in front of people to survive. I find that I enjoyed Nicole's story and impractical for me to stop reading it once I started.  I look forwarding reading the next installment in this trilogy!!

Tell you about me? Hmm, well there's not much to say. I love hockey and cars and my kids…not in that order of course! Lol! When I'm not writing—which isn't often—I'm usually watching a game or a car show while working on promo. Going out with my kids is my only down time. I get to clear my head and forget everything.

As for when and why I first started writing, I guess I thought I'd get extra cookies if I was quiet for awhile—that's how young I was. I used to bring my grandmother barely legible pages filled with tales of evil unicorns. She told me then that I would be a famous author.

I hope one day to prove her right.
