~Teaser/Pleaser~

UNEDITED TEASER!
I'm looking down, so I'm not paying attention to where I'm going. Doesn't matter anyway. When people see me coming, they get out of my way.
“Hey!” a girl shouts as our shoulders slam together and my cigarette topples out of my mouth. “Watch where you're fucking going!” A crumpled ball of leather slams into my chest before I get the chance to process that the chick standing in front of me is the girl from the bus last night, the one on the couch. Holy fuck me. She looks even better in the daylight. She's tall, fucking got legs for days, and her tits are practically falling out the top of an asymmetrical tee that's cut up and hanging in long strips over her bare belly. Skin like porcelain, orange-brown eyes that bite, and swollen lips. Hell to the fuck yeah. She's exactly my type. My irritation at having her bump into me dissipates right away, and I switch on the charm.
“Hey, baby, do I know you from somewhere?” I shake out the crumpled leather as she scowls at me and realize with a start that it's actually my jacket. Must've left it on her bus last night. I wonder if we fucked. If we did, then it's a memory I'm sad to forget.
“Yeah, last night when I cleaned your puke off my carpet and pulled your dick out of my friend. Hey, next time you decide to screw a drunk chick, make sure she's sober enough to remember her own name. Can you do that for me, Turner?” I lick my lips and shake out the jacket, tossing it over my shoulder with a scowl of my own. Hot as this chick is, nobody talks to me like that. If I've ever fought for anything in my life, it's the right to be respected. Even a tight body and a dangerous scowl can't change that.
“Hey, if I touched your friend, it's because she wanted me to.” I snap my fingers and lean in close. “Oh yeah, and it's none of your damn business.” Hands come out quick and hit my chest, knocking me back a step. Mostly from surprise. She isn't as tough as she thinks.
“Next time you pass out on my bus, I take payment from you in the form of diseased body parts.” She waves her hand at my dick and then she tries to turn away. My fingers on her shoulder spin her around and this time, she hits me right in the face.
“You fucking bitch,” I snarl as she stands her ground and stares me down. “I could have you kicked off the tour for that shit. Or thrown in jail. Who the hell do you think you are?” The woman raises her chin and takes a deep breath while the wind teases her auburn hair around her soft face. She's acting fierce, but I can see right through her. This chick is vulnerable, half ready to crack. Wonder if I could help her along a little? Broken souls are my specialty.
“My name is Naomi Knox,” she says and then takes a step closer to me, so close that the toes of our shoes touch and her breasts brush up against my chest. Almost immediately, my cock springs to attention and gets hard as a fucking rock, expanding along the length of my thigh and pressing against the tight fabric of my jeans. Fuck that hurts. Guess this my penance for wearing girls' pants. “And I'm not afraid of you, Turner Campbell, so fuck off.”
She spins on her heel and smacks me across the cheek with her hair. As she moves away, I see something in her face. I don't know what it is, but it triggers something else in me. I know I've met this girl before, and I'm not going to rest until I figure out where.

Excerpt

The letter showed up at Michelle’s front door on a Friday morning. Placed on the welcome mat was a black envelope with her full name typed on a white label with no return address. It was obvious that whoever had left the letter took the trouble to deliver it personally.
Michelle suspiciously picked up the envelope and walked quickly back into her house. Shiloh had left for school 20 minutes ago. Her half-eaten oatmeal was still on the dining room table. As Michelle took the bowl of cold cereal into the kitchen, she wondered if the envelope had been there already when Shiloh left.
She walked back to the table where she had left the envelope and opened it slowly. She began to read the letter carefully. The letter only consisted of five words, typed out in bold black letters, with each word underlined. There was no signature, of course, and no sign of where the letter had come from. These five words meant everything and nothing to Michelle all at the same time.
With the letter in her hand, she made her way through the foyer and up the staircase. She tapped the letter against her leg as she climbed the stairs to her bedroom. When she opened the door, she was greeted by a burst of warm air and hot steam. Michelle sat on her king-size bed, her eyes focused on the bathroom door.
Ty stepped out of the bathroom. His chest was still wet from his shower and he wore a white towel around his waist. He stepped out into the room and smiled. His body was perfect. Michelle couldn’t deny that. He was one of the most complete men she had ever known. From head to toe he was the man that every woman hoped for. At that very moment, Michelle wanted him. She wanted to jump on him right then and there, but she knew that there were more pressing issues to deal with.
He made his way to the bed, leaned down, and kissed her forehead.
“Mornin’ baby. You look tired. Did you sleep okay?”
Michelle didn’t say a word. With a shaky hand, she held the letter out in front of her. Her hands had begun to shake. Ty took the letter, unfolding the paper and reading it silently. Worry lines formed on his forehead. He balled up the paper and threw it on the floor. His demeanor changed instantly. She watched him pace from one side of the room to the other, and his breathing got heavy.
Michelle stood and walked to the window where Ty had finally stopped. He didn’t look in her direction. He kept his focus outside. She could tell that he was in deep thought. He had reacted the exact same way the night the black car had appeared outside of her house a few weeks ago. In both cases, his demeanor had scared her a little. She had become so used to his gentle side that when he got into protector mode, Michelle didn’t know how to respond to him.
She placed one hand on his shoulder and slipped her other hand into his. “Ty, what’s this all about? Does this have anything to do with that person I always hear you arguing with on the phone?”
Ty turned his head, finally making eye contact with Michelle. She could feel the tension radiating off of his body. His eyes didn’t give much away, but his body language did. His shoulders were slumped and his arms fell loosely at his sides.
Ty took Michelle’s hand and sighed. “There really isn’t anything to tell, Michelle. I don’t know who would send this to you. I’m tellin’ you the truth.”
Michelle ripped her hand from his and walked to the opposite side of the room.
Throwing her hands up, she yelled in frustration, “Are you kidding me, Ty? You look like you got caught with your hand in the damn cookie jar and you have the nerve to tell me you don’t know what this is about?”
Ty reached for her hand only to have it smacked away.
Moving closer to her, Ty pleaded. “Baby, please. I’m not lying to you. And if I’m actin’ funny, it’s because I’m mad as hell that somebody would send something like this to my woman.”
Michelle bent down and picked up the paper that was now in a crumpled ball. She opened up the paper and stared at it.
Looking up at Ty she narrowed her eyes. “Ty, I’ve told you time and time again that I have trust issues. I’m willing to give you a chance, but if you’re lying to me--”
Ty pulled her close to him. “Baby, I would never lie to you. I love you.”

Excerpt

He chuckles and I watch his chest move with the sound. “I said,” his voice still a breathy whisper, “You can look. I know you want to.”
I swallow. Hard.
Of course he’s right. I want to look.
So I do.
His lips are parted, his breathing coming out in short wisps like mine. His chin is covered in light stubble and I have the sudden urge to lick it. The skin on his neck is smooth, still coated in droplets of water that skate over the light freckles on his shoulders. I know his shoulders are broad but I didn’t see how broad until now. My scrutiny stops at his pecs and spot the little silver bar sticking out of his nipple. Fuuuuck. That’s so sexy. I bite my tongue to prevent myself from pulling it into my mouth. His hand slips under my shirt and rests on my hip. His thumb traces lazy circles on my hip bone and my skin blazes from the fervour of that small stroke. Oh.My.God. He’s teasing me, tempting me. I rest my hands in his chest and gently graze my index fingers over his nipples. It makes me smile when I feel him shiver.  He isn’t as unaffected as he’d have me think. I look back up and he’s staring at me, trying to see right into my soul. It’s unnerving, like the feel of his racing heartbeat under my palm. I like that it’s racing because of me.
He moves his leg and pushes it up between the apex of my thighs. I bite my lip but it doesn’t stop a moan from escaping my mouth. He has me so tightly strung I’m afraid one more slight brush of his leg will set me off. “Do you know how crazy you make me?” he asks, his eyes never leaving mine. I nod and he gives me his lopsided grin. God I want to kiss him so badly. “Why have you been avoiding me?” I ask. I need to know. We can’t keep tip-toeing around each other like this. “Because this is a bad idea. You’re going to break me and I’m already damaged. I’m just not sure how much longer I can stay away from you.” His answer surprises me. I take a step forward, his bare chest only a sliver of space away from mine.

~Teaser/Pleaser~
“I wanted to tell you,” she cries. “I wanted to tell you at the wedding, Jesika and Derek’s. I was gonna tell you, and then that, that bitch showed up, and I just couldn’t,” she looks over at me as she wipes the tears from her face. It’s taking every fiber of strength in me to keep my hands grasped together in my lap instead of using them to wipe away the visible pain she is shedding. Letting out a defeated sigh, she continues, “Then I tried again, when I showed up at your umm...wedding. We both know how that turned out.”

“Why didn’t you just tell me you were pregnant Mal? It could have changed everything.” Who am I kidding? I don’t know what it could have changed at the time. I mean I was dealing with a situation of my own. A situation I was conned into, and I lost everything that was of true importance to me because of it.

“I didn’t want you to want me because I was fucking pregnant. Are you kidding me? I wanted you to want me on your own Seth. I wanted you to choose me...but you didn’t. I was stupid to think there was ever a chance that you would.” She looks away, “I need to go, you got the answers you came for. You can go back to your wife now.”

Girl with Guitar Promo Event + Giveaway

Title: Girl with Guitar

Author: Caisey Quinn

Release date: May 22, 2013

Genre: Romance

Age Group: New Adult

  Event organized by: AToMR Tours

Synopsis

After Kylie’s dad dies in a freak accident, he leaves her with nothing other than her crazy stepmother, Darla, and the ability to play guitar. When Darla kicks Kylie out and she loses her job all in the same day, she hops a bus to Nashville determined to make her late father’s dreams come true. Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big break comes when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once platinum album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. But touring with Trace is hardly a dream come true since he’s pretty much drinking his career down the drain. If Kylie can’t pull Trace out of his rut, he’ll pull her and her dreams down with him.

Excerpt
“Trace?” Pauly called from the front of the bus.
Kylie was already dressed so she stepped out of her room.
“Kylie, you seen Trace?”
“No, not recently, why?” No he was not doing this again. No fucking way. Pauly muttered something equally as harsh under his breath and stomped off the bus. Her mind raced. What was his freaking deal? Was he trying to get dropped from Capital Letter Records, the biggest damn label in Nashville? Whatever, not her problem. Him pulling another no-show where the audience would blame her and then the tour getting canceled before she could blink, that was her problem.
Kylie racked her brain as she made her way to the bar. Surely Pauly had checked the green room. Some bars, nice ones like this, had private party rooms for VIPs only, according to Tonya. If she could get into the one here at The Texas Player’s Club, she’d drag Trace Corbin out by his ass, stick her arm up it, and do his entire set ventriloquist style if she had do.
Pushing through the crowd, she found a back hallway backstage similar to the one at The Rum Room. After several failed attempts, she found a locked door with voices, mostly high-pitched female ones, coming from within.
Freaking hell, she did not want to think about what was happening on the other side of that door. But she had to get in somehow. Yanking a bobby pin from her hair, she took a deep breath to brace herself for whatever lewd acts she might be about to witness. Just as she was about to pick the lock like her dad had taught her to do in case she ever forgot her house key when he worked late, a male voice from behind her stopped her.
“No need to pick the lock, sweetheart. Pretty girl like you can come in as my personal guest.”
